This is such a neat game! Definitely makes you think and I find the addition of the glossary is so unique! My one and only critique would be that the answers aren’t explained if the player chooses incorrectly. Otherwise, I thought the game was great! I played it on my channel if you’re interested in watching! :D Great work!
Finally, a game where I can exercise critical thinking in a fun way! It's truly a great addition to my gaming collection... and a fantastic gift for other gamers too. The latest update brings a lot to the table, with beautiful animations for the book! Dr. Kawashima can go back to the drawing board; this is a great way to train your brain.
It might sound cheesy, but i found this game enlightening, like, I never had context for many of the dumb way my family argue with me, so this game helped me a lot in understanding why i though they did not make sence tldr : really cool game that make you understand the real world :D

Hey, sorry for the delay but publishing on Steam turned out to be more complicated than expected. I have to make some changes and go through a review process. This has pushed back the release date on steam. However updates are planned on itch in the meantime, the next update will include the Fallacy Glossary. One of the questions says something to the effect of (and I'm doing this from memory so I might have got the wording wrong): It hasn't rained for 3 days therefore we should plan a picnic tomorrow.
the game correctly labels this a fallacy, but it labels it as a 'gamblers fallacy' but that would be "it *has* rained 3 days in a row so therefore we should plan a picnic tomorrow. What it should be labeled as is the 'Hot hands fallacy' which is related but is from the assumption that previous success would predict current success (alone without any other information, for example seeing HHH on a coin flip and thinking the forth will be H for sure, or at least more likely) it is also a belief in the law of small numbers.
If the original did say "hasn't then" I hope you add 'Hot Hands' since I feel it slips into our lives a bit more (I have no evidence to back this up, believe if you want)
Also the popup after completing easy mode says "unkocked" instead of "unlocked"

A game about spotting logical fallacies shouldn't be this fun, you've truly done a wonderful job making this game. That said, I will go to my grave believing that "Eating more fruits and vegetables won't make you immortal" is a valid statement.

About "Eating more fruits and vegetables won't make you immortal" it's valid formally, but it can be an informal fallacy anyway. In the final version I plan to change it to something like "No, I won't eat that. Eating more fruits and vegetables won't make you immortal anyway." to give more context.
What I played of this was fun and charming, though sadly it runs somewhat badly on my potato computer. But some of the statements don't have the argument stated, which makes determining which fallacy was used difficult.
Example: for the statement "Well, eating vegetables won't make you immortal," I marked it as valid as I didn't get the implied argument of "So we shouldn't bother eating healthily." I just read it as a true statement.
Since the game presents the statements out of their imagined contexts, I think it's important that the arguments be stated in full rather than relying on the player intuiting unspoken parts of the argument, especially in hard mode.

Lovely looking game. This won't sharpen critical thinking skills whilst the fallacies aren't explained in context. For example, an invalid answer should be presented with an explanation of where the fallacy is because some of these are quite arbitrary.

I assume you'd have done it anyway, but there are a few statements that have typos or dropped/added words in them, so I definitely recommend going over all of them before the official release.

Such a fun game! I know it's a beta so here's a quick impression: - The sound levels could be fine tuned a bit more but the menu is really high quality so it doesn't bother the experience - The length of a game is a bit quick which is nice to chill but sometimes we want to learn more about the reasons why it's valid and why it's not. The glossary you expect to release could become accessible with a hint button when the player fails
Overall it's pretty fun, educational and very engaging with such cool drawings and animations. I'm eager to have more debates now just to encounter one situation from your game xD.

Petit retour : peut être que des phrases plus longues ou des situations complexes un peu mise en avant (comme on peut avoir lorsque y’a des sujets d’actualité et le traitement phallacieux qui en sont fait dans les médias meme dans les débats) pourraient être intéressantes, dans un mode hardcore, bien que peut être les exemple seraient peut être un peu trop politisant ou clivant comparé au ton du jeu ? Mais en passant par des allégories ça pourraient faire passer un message, même en imbriquant un lore dans les situations ca créeraient une sorte de mode histoire au jeu avec des petits personnages et des éléments qui reviennnebt pas mal et qui font que la « replay value seraient agréable tout en apprenant les rhétoriques fallacieuses. Et justement la rhétorique phallacieuse sont encore plus dur à discerner quand la situation est un peu plus complexe et résumé en 5 à 10 phrases, mais je pense faudrait ça soit dans un mode « hardcore » ou dit complexe pour pas que ça soit la première Game qui soit comme ça. Je sais pas si j’ai été clair
Awesome game, love the concept. I like the hard mode the best, it really helps me to get good at spotting which specific logical fallacy is being used.
I will probably be gifting a couple copies to people around me, our society seriously needs a reality check when it comes to falling for bad reasoning, this game could actually help people alot.
The title screen literally seduced me, due to the artistic quality and the brilliant idea of combining the intelligent theme of fallacious remarks with naive moving drawings and the good old slate of our childhood. The quiz is very well done and teaches a lot. It makes you think and the pleasure of playing it to challenge yourself and your friends is real. Congratulations to the developer for all the little discoveries which allow us to present the scores and push us to do better in the best possible time. I liked the idea of combos which allow you to surpass your own best score. After this game, I feel more equipped to attempt discussions without being manipulated.
Great beta. The time limit can be stressful though, I think it should be an optional feature. Alongside having a mode with no time limit, it would be nice to have little info box to explain the meaning of each fallacy during play, I think it would be much more appealing for the players to learn during play and connect the dot themselves rather than looking in a fallacydex. Also having no time limit would make the game appealing to play with other people or a streaming audience.

Hi! You have to get a score of 5000 on easy mode, try to get combo bonuses and time bonuses to get higher scores :)

Don't forget to include formal fallacies. Informal fallacies are good to know but formal logic is what gets you places.
Yes there are informal and formal fallacies in the game already. I might add more formal fallacies after I add the glossary.
It was added to the list in the 0.2 update! Quiz questions using it are yet to be added in a future update ;)
