Hi everyone,

I've spent the last two months on adding the most ambitious feature to Fallacy Quiz, I'm now ready to reveal version 0.4!

If you're new, Fallacy Quiz is a game to learn to spot logical and rhetorical fallacies, it's available on itch.io in early access, can be added to your wishlist on steam and it's one of the last update before 1.0.

So, what's new in Fallacy Quiz 0.4? It was a real challenge to make it happen, but Fallacy Quiz is now officially a local multiplayer game!

Local Multiplayer!

Imagine playing alongside friends or family members, working together or against each other, trying to get everyone to choose the right answers or trying to get the high score for yourself. That's exactly what you can do with the brand-new local multiplayer mode!

Up to 4 players can join using controllers or the keyboard (WASD and arrows), each with their unique color and shape, visible on their hand pointer. By default there's no time limit so yo can debate each question with your friends, but you can use the custom mode to have the timer on for quick and chaotic games.

Use controllers? Oh yeah. The game now fully supports most standard controllers!

Controller Support

I added full controller support, it was needed for multiplayer, but it's really handy on solo mode too. When not using a mouse, a helpful visual cursor in the shape of a hand will guide you through the interface.

Visual improvements

I've added a new theme for expert mode to be able to differentiate and make this harder mode a bit more eerie. Plus, it looks real fancy in my opinion.

The paper pieces illustrations have undergone a stunning transformation! I've added wrinkles and reflections to give them a more realistic look. It's all in the details.

Finally, the overall lighting has been improved.

Other improvements

I've improved navigation in the Glossary to make sure you can go back to the index or exit more easily. I also decided to add a little text on pages you haven't discovered yet to make it clearer what's happening.

Last but not least, some behind-the-scenes work has gone into fixing graphical issues and optimizing performance. You'll notice a smoother experience overall!

Please note that with this update adding a big part of the final game (the multiplayer mode) I've decided to start to close the gap with the final price as well, the game is now at eight dollars. Of course, if you've already purchased Fallacy Quiz (thank you!) you won't need to pay again for this update. And if you decide to buy it now, it's still cheaper than what the final price will be, you would support the development and have access to future updates.

Fallacy Quiz is now being played by students in classrooms, youtubers are making videos playing it and my friends harass me everyday about the next update, and it's not even out yet! Let's keep this going until the release, if you could wishlist the game on Steam (even if you bought it here) it would help me tremendously.

I'm pretty much sure that the next big update is going to be 1.0, so stay tuned ;)
